As of 2020, we are proud to announce Learnship is a member of the International Council for open and Distance Education.

The ICDE is an organization that works towards the achievement of online education for all, offering a worldwide network of online educators, policymakers, and innovators that collaborate with each other on projects and initiatives. The ICDE network also facilitates intercultural cooperation at various conferences, summits, and events. All members of the ICDE share a same vision: to be the global facilitator for inclusive, flexible, quality learning and teaching in the digital age.

The ICDE Secretariat stated they are “delighted to welcome Learnship into the global ICDE community. Learnship has for many years been delivering online and flexible intercultural and language training programmes. Their experience of working with corporate clients in 14 languages across borders will be an asset to enhancing the skills and knowledge among the global ICDE community, and ICDE looks forward to sharing their story and expertise to help address some of the biggest societal challenges we face at a national, regional and international level.”

Founded in 1938, the International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE) is partly funded by a grant from the Government of Norway and has been generously hosted in Oslo since 1988. ICDE also has a longstanding partnership with UNESCO that dates back to the 1960’s.

“Membership of the ICDE is a statement of intent,” explains Robert Szabó, Director of Pedagogy at Learnship Networks. “We are taking our place alongside serious, established institutions such as the Open Universities of the UK and Japan, the National Distance Education University in Spain and Maryland University College in the United States of America. We’re joining a global network of online education experts and will be integrating best practices and research findings into our maturing range of training products.”
